Installing the device by ourselves was easy and did not prove to be a problem. On the first evening after the installation I was pleasantly surprised as I drank a glass of tap water. It has since then tasted different, cleaner and milder. A few days after installing the Vulcan 5000 I was able to remove scale from my shower cubicle with only a damp cloth; before I had to use dissolving agents. In the meantime, our massage shower head has recovered its full efficiency without any effort on my part. Previously, this was only achievable through regular intensive cleaning and soaking the head in detergents for a long period of time. Our taps, sinks, bathtubs and shower cubicles no longer have dull surfaces; instead they shine. Also, since we installed the Vulcan 5000 unit we have cut back on the amount of dishwasher and washing machine soap by half. My wife and I look forward to a life without further ‘calcification’.
