Monthly mineral scale and rust pressure issue resolved with Vulcan mineral descaler
Every month the heat exchanger efficiencies dropped dramatically because of an increase in pressure between inlet and outlet of the heat exchanger. Vulcan S250 models were installed and after 5 months there have not been any mineral scale pressure issues in the cooling towers or heat exchangers.
Model: Vulcan S250
Location: Beersheba (Israel)Installation Area: 4 cooling towers, each with 2 heat exchangers
Period: 5 month observation
The Be'er Sheva Grand Mall is the largest shopping mall (220 stores) in the southern region of Israel, located in Be'er Sheva - the capital of the Negev.
The Vulcan S250 descaler is installed on the roof of the shopping mall in a waterproof box. After wrapping the impulse bands around the pipes another outdoor weather protective insulation was wrapped around the impulse bands for long-term weather protection. During the 5-month testing period, the outdoor ambient temperature was 38 - 40 °C.
The shopping mall management team was so impressed with the results of this test that additional mineral descalers will be installed in the rest of the company’s facilities.
Results after 5 months:
- With Vulcan: The pressure difference is lower between the exit and the inlet of the heat exchanger.
- With Vulcan: The water coming out of the heat exchanger is colder.
